Root canal treatment
Endodontic treatment that cleans and seals an infected tooth so it can be kept.
When the nerve inside a tooth is inflamed or infected, root canal treatment removes it, cleans the canals and seals them. The procedure is done under local anaesthesia.
A tooth with a large filling or a root canal often needs a crown afterwards to protect it, which your dentist plans with you.
